David's update for today

For those of you checking regularly to see how David is doing -- he is having a rough day -- pain is supposed to peak between days 5-8 and he is following the norm. We found out just how much the pain meds have been doing for him...I forgot to give him a dose when he woke up this morning and by 9 o'clock, he was chalky-white, the drool was pouring out of his mouth (hurt too much to swallow), and he was crying and holding his throat. Thankfully, the pain medicine kicks in about 20-30 minutes after taking it... Even with the meds today, he is in almost constant pain, but it is tolerable enough to function, though he still prefers to spit in the sink rather than swallow! When he talks, it sounds like someone is squeezing his throat. But...at least he is drinking and eating enough to stay out of trouble. Poor little guy!
