A girls' day...

David went over to a friend's house this morning so I could go with Bruce, and then he stayed all day and got to play with a boy his age. This left Abigail and me with the whole day to spend "just us", and we had a wonderful time!

After the appointment, Bruce headed to work and Abigail and I went into downtown Woodstock, Georgia, where we visited our yarn shop, The Whole Nine Yarns...
Then we went next door to The Serene Bean Cafe, where we got fresh-squeezed lemonade... Then we walked around the town square and sat in the gazebo for a little while...

Then we headed home, set up our new hammock, and spent several hours lying in it and reading books together.

We had such a great day! It really made me realize that I need to arrange some one-on-one time with each kid regularly...it was wonderful to be able to give Abigail my undivided attention.

A daughter of my own...and one who, like me, enjoys the feel of yarn, the taste of lemonade, the beauty of flowers, and hours spent with books, not to mention treasuring our time together...what an amazing blessing!!!
