Mid-summer bounty

Last week, I canned 8 pints and 1 quart of pickled okra, and froze 41 ears' worth of sweet corn. We're eating cucumber salad galore and popping cherry tomatoes like candy.
We are currently harvesting tomatoes, okra, and cucumbers, and yesterday...... we harvested and ate our first-ever fresh-from-the-garden cantaloupe. It was delicious!
I love our garden and I'm so thankful that we can have one! Later this month we'll plant our fall garden...after the sweet tastes of summer will come the crisp savories of fall...carrots, peas, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower...mm-mmm!

How wonderful; glad we got to share some of the harvest, too. I am glad you like to can-it is a family tradition!
