Girls' day out

While my parents were here, we had one "out and about" day into which we managed to cram all of our necessary errands. In the midst, though, we also managed some fun stuff -- and of course, being together made all of it enjoyable. While the guys went to a pizza buffet for lunch and then out for some shopping, we ladies went to the local yarn store.I failed to take a picture of the yarn I bought, but my mom has one here! I bought yarn for my mom to make me a pi shawl, and also splurged on a skein to make myself a fashion-type scarf. Here is Abigail winding the yarn from a skein into a ball (making it much easier to work with).
I love this picture of us girls!
We took a quick stroll in the town square by the yarn shop...
We then ate a high-society lunch at McDonald's drive-thru :), made a quick stop at Home School Hangout, took Abigail to her OT session, and even managed to squeeze in a quick visit to JoAnns. A happy, full-of-good-company, textile-ishly stimulating day!

I am savoring the good day with the knitting-yarn, what a great souvenoir!

Buying your mom yarn to make you a pi shawl is cheating Marsel. One must knit it for oneself even if it takes all your years. Cheating is wicked...
Looks like a wonderful day... wish I was there.

I'm knitting one for myself; it is scheduled to be finished around the time I'm to be buried.
