...and we do it well! (But then, those of you who know us already know that.) Yesterday started out as an ordinary day...and in fact, most of the day was ordinary. We had an extra-long day of school to catch up on a couple of things as well as to accommodate a special project in history. We're studying the Early New Kingdom in Egypt, and the kids made paddle dolls in the style of those that Egyptian children of that time period would have had.
After school the kids played while I spent two hours working on the basement and then the garage (that's the final frontier in the house...I am making progress!). The kids played together happily the whole time, inside and outside, and then just as it was time to come inside and clean up, the ice cream truck came through the neighborhood. The kids have been really sweet about skipping it almost every time he comes around, so we decided to let them indulge this time.
They put their ice cream in the freezer to eat after dinner, I put Abigail in the tub, and David headed downstairs to take a shower. I was putting the finishing touches on dinner, and was beginning to feel a bit like Wonder Woman since I had accomplished so much -- school, big cleaning project, laundry done, dishes washed, a nice dinner, soon-to-be-clean kids -- and then I heard hollering from the bathroom.
Our otherwise-ordinary day ended with me and David at Urgent Care, where he got six stitches in his forehead to close up the spot that he split open when he cracked his head on the bathroom counter. Never boring!!!

Sending a Grandma hug....you have quite a wound, Grandson! You still qualify as WonderWoman-a trip to the ER is in her resume!
WOW!!! I started reading thinking that maybe you really did have a "normal" day after all...and then I kept reading...and it appears you had a "normal" day after all! :-) So sorry David was hurt, though. It doesn't look too swollen however, so maybe it will heal quickly. Just look at it this way--you're checking all the possible injuries and mishaps off your list earlier than most so the second half of raising your children will be uneventful! Yep, I'm sure that's what is happening! :-)
Wow David, what a brave boy! Guys usually have a scar so you are just one of the guys now. Hope it heals fast. Love Great Grandma
Your son and I now have matching eyebrows!
A few years ago I opened the car door really forcefully into my own face, and the top corner caught me in that same spot. Ugh! (At least he didn't get a black eye like I did!)
You had a super productive day....maybe it does run in the family!
Sue
Yikes! So sorry, David! But congrats on everything you accomplished-even with two ER trips in one week! :o) Praying both kids recover well with no scars ...
What a day! Life with kids is always full of unexpected moments! Praying both your kids heal quickly.
Sorry - that's tough. Looks like he's a trooper, though!
