A frigid front from the north and clear, cloudless nights...
...are resulting in some very cold days even here in the South.
We've been waking up to mid-teen temperatures, and the water in our birdbath and rain barrels is all solid ice, not even melting during our bright, sunny days...the cold air is stealing away the typical heat of our southern sun.
Brrrrr!
Just for the record, we do go out every morning and add warm water to the birdbath so that it melts enough for the birds to get a drink. With the frigid temperatures, we are thoroughly enjoying the extra traffic at our birdfeeders as the birds work hard to generate some extra body heat!

Yikes, it is a cold snap! We even had ice around the edge of our pond-brrrrrrr!
