Waking up to a winter wonderland

We are at 3 degrees windchill this morning, and it looks like we might actually keep this snow for a couple of days -- fun!  There is a treacherous layer of ice under the snow-coating...so everyone around here is homebound for now.  We're going to do school while we wait for it to warm up a little bit and then I'll set the kids loose to play in the snow!

All of you in the North will probably laugh at us, but that's okay. I grew up in central NY, where there's an average snowfall of 115+ inches a year, so I do know what real snow is...but I've lived in the South long enough now to get excited whenever we see snow!  Although different from the kind of snow I grew up in, this is fun, too...a little bit two or three times each winter, no shovels required, and 70 degree days likely to pop up not too many weeks hence!

Yay for a little snow!!! Yesterday it was above freezing here, and sunny, and I swear that it felt like spring. (70 would thus feel like summer I guess!)

Have fun with your snow!

This is a first for you , isn't it? Snow coming and staying I mean. Glad the kids will enjoy it, and that Bruce is home safe!

I often long to live in the south where we can get excited about snow, too! While life in the northwoods is great, there are many, many times I think of you with a wistful sigh! Enjoy the snow and the reason to stay holed up today...snow=no appointments!!!

I think it would be fun to live south, & get snow. I just don't think I could live through a summer there! I'd melt!

Enjoy!Stay warm, & build a little snowman!
