I've blogged vaguely over the past year about making a secret quilt (here, here, and here), but now that it has finally been finished, mailed, and received by its new owner, I can share real pictures of it!
A childhood friend of mine and his wife had their first baby in May of this past year, and I wanted to mark the occasion with a quilt for him/them...their nursery theme was Winnie the Pooh, so that made it very easy to choose fabrics. I wanted the free motion quilting to have a "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" feeling, hence the swirls and wavy lines, and I was pleased with the results. It is now at its new home in Texas, so here are the pictures I took before it went on its way...

So cute!! :o)
What a great work of piecing and quilting. So exciting to see it passed down to another generation! (That makes you of the fifth, you know!)
love it! I need to do more quilting! I've been doing more and more garment sewing lately, I really need to venture back into quilting!
Very beautiful and love the color choices and the quilting looks wonderful.
Great job!
